The Øiesvold Collection

«Exploration of the North Calotte»

Important books, maps & prints from The North 1493-2020

The Øiesvold Collection represents a unique presentation of the earliest printed and pictoral history of the North Calotte. Øiesvold was a book collector from young age. Just a few weeks before he died after a period of illness, 22 February 2024, he held in his hands his own book, based on his lifelong collecting: ”Fra Nord. Nordkalottens billedhistorie 1550 – 1850” (From the North. The pictoral history of the North Calotte 1550-1850). We are proud to present Terje Øiesvold's lifelong passion for bibliophilia and history, represented by many unique and fine provenanced copies.
